27. Worlds | Beyond The Firmament: Tales From The Cosmos

Beyond The Firmament

Tales From The Cosmos

27. Worlds

- Written by Gift C Enyadike Jr

For the longest time, my Acolytes, your people and the more intelligent beasts on your world were indeed alone in the universe, as far as sapient mortal life was concerned. Sevaasi, ever the persistent disruptor, would often propose the question to his former brethren: Why?

Why is the universe so large and empty? Why do all these planets exist with no life on them? Why does Teyra hoard it all?

The curiosity and burning embers of desire would linger in the hearts of many, and soon the whispers began anew. However, none of the angels acted as they remembered the fall of man, whom they guarded and guided, Sevaasi, who had once been Onárstil, the greatest among them and Kallor and Kibet, their progenitors who birthed the black holes, from one of which came Fari Hasira.

They would not go unnoticed or unanswered. The arch-angels, Huun and Laam, who had thwarted Sevaasi's attempt at the throne, who would go down into Teyra to give prophesy to the men and women of God and who were content with their position, brought the whispers back to Him who had already heard them.

He held his hand out to the empty worlds and gave them to the ones who humbly desired it, as he had done for Onárstil. Teyra was off-limits, as it belonged to Him. Mars was off-limits, as it was given to Onárstil, who became Sevaasi, and it is still his to this day. And off they went.

The results? Hmm... There is a reason that Venus is perpetually on fire, resembling what many of you THOUGHT Hell looked like before I enlightened you.

Many would return to Da Vaada in shame and humility, their peoples joining the ranks of the hosts. Some would join the ranks of the Paadlan, falling into the same trap of arrogance and pride as Sevaasi, with their peoples joining the Martians in Pla'daali, waiting to torment their creators as they are tormented.

However, there was but a small number who succeeded, for one reason: they understood that they were not Da Vaada. And so they gave these worlds and their peoples back to him.

Da Vaada felt a great joy, raising them to a higher standing and counting their peoples as his, but allowing them to rule, now called the Jarwa (Princes).

But to be mortal, to be sapient, to be... a person is to sin and to die, and he would feel a great sorrow. They would be dealt with, as he would deal with you, as he had dealt with me. They would be forgiven, when they sought it, as you would be.

And so it is to this day.

And so it shall be until it is not.
