Beyond The Firmament
Tales From The Cosmos
60. The Devil's Due
- Written by Gift C Enyadike Jr
My Acolytes, rather than another story or important figure, I will leave you with a message of hope. One that has been reiterated throughout: Sevaasi is doomed.
A time will come when he is confined to Kurisstac with the likes of Grubass, Soragna and her child, the Chiliad and, of course, the former arbiter, Diohlatas. He will stay there for a thousand years. He will leave. He will gather an army and mount one last rebellion, and he will be sent to Pla'dali for all eternity.
He will suffer the one fate he has eluded for millennia, his sins burning him; his children, the Martians whom he condemned, tearing him apart while leaving just enough to never stop.
Truly, his days are numbered. The problem is, no one knows how many, not even we who know, which is why we, you and I, must remain steadfast.
Cast aside any aspersions of him having been wronged or misunderstood. He chose this. He sought to take the throne; he introduced corruption to the cosmos; he declared himself Da Vaada's enemy. He cannot be forgiven, because he will not be forgiven. To be forgiven is to admit that you are wrong, to take accountability, and he will never do that.
Cast aside any idea that you might somehow serve him and be rewarded. He HATES you. More than he ever despised the Titaness, more than all the Jarwa or their worlds, more than the Archs who thwarted him the first time. You are a constant reminder of the being he hates most of all, and the only real pleasure he feels is dragging you to hell with him because he knows the grief it brings Him.
When he's there, suffering endlessly, he will look over at you... and laugh. That will be his only respite.
But you might remember that right before sentencing Diohlatas, Da Vaada declared that He had given the Earth over to Sevaasi, and that is true.
Sevaasi, or as you humans know him, Satan, is the god of this age... by democratic election.
I do not judge you. How could I? I merely speak the unfortunate truth. Open your eyes and look around you. You know it to be true.
But I remind you that your world, the Heavens, the entire cosmos, all of creation, will be made anew. Until then, I, once again, tell you: endure and pray. Always pray.
