Beyond The Firmament
Tales From The Cosmos
21. The Intruder
- Written by Gift C Enyadike Jr
You remember that Da Vaada was once A'ovi (First Born), right?
Perhaps you, like me, are of the opinion that there must be more siblings; otherwise, such an important distinction would be pointless.
The same is true for him. For after him came more, for without him there would be none. They were not like him, though. They could not create a cosmos of their own, and so they sought to enter his.
The first to do so was a being that those of you who have been with us for some time will know as Grubass (Slapstick). And you will also know that he started as a simple observer, and then he became a nuisance.
He never touched Teyra; he knew better than that. Though his influence would be felt in the dreams of mankind.
But all other worlds? He would turn them into cubes, make them spin faster, which would reduce Alta and Odic to an hour each. He would throw galaxies around like you would a Frisbee. All with what I can best describe as a... laugh. I think it was a laugh. Any mortal who has ever seen him can only perceive a pair of incongruous eyes and a wide, toothy grin.
As you might know, he would find himself cast into the bottomless pit at the edge of the universe, the abyss known as Kurisstac. A place that would house many such beings forever after, even Sevaasi himself, though that would not yet come.
Grubass would be allowed to leave from time to time, but never for too long, else he would cease to exist.
